How To Speak English Fluently In 5 Steps? How To Answer The Phone?

One of the biggest challenges when it comes to speaking English freely, especially for people who are getting started, you are just learning the English language.

I remember one of the plunder that startled the heck out of me was when I had to pick up the phone and talk to someone.

It's bad enough that English isn't your first language, especially when you're in seminary or you're in a business setting, you are dealing with people.

You do not have that face to face relation. It means that you do not have your body language, you do not have your facial expression into play.

So now all you have is your voice, either it makes you really, really nervous. I am gon na give you five tips that will help you.

When you are answering on the phone, how do you speak with clarity, conviction, and power?

Tip Number One

Now one of the paraphernalia that you wanna do is, you wanna smile when you're on the phone.

Sometimes, we do not realize this, but we can get too tense and too serious, so what I like to do is actually have a glass right next to me.

So when I pick up the phone, I am talking to personality, it always reminds me to smile.

However, chances are my tonality is too serious, If I look at my facial expression and I am not smiling. So I wan na kind of be nice and be friendly. And just remind myself.

Tip Number Two

Always have an prelude that you rehearse. It depends on what you do and depends on where you are.

However, either way, does not really matter, If you're running your own business or you are just a scholar.

When you're speaking on the phone, you wan na have a greeting that you kind of learn and rehearse. So you might say object like this, as simple as hi, this is, your name.

So in my case, Hi, this is Sharjeel.
Kind of casual, informal.
Hi, this is, your first name.
Hi, this is Sharjeel.

Really simple, or if you are in patron service, in patron support, you are in business and you might use your full name.

So your first name, including your last name, and either you might end with a question. So it sounds object like this.

Hi, this is Sharjeel Anees. What can I do for you?

That also works. Another thing that you could do, which is normally how I answer my phone is actually using my first name, last name, and either speaking.

So it sounds reality like this.
Sharjeel Anees speaking.

Either right there, they know they are talking to the right person. Now I am not talking about your workaday friend calling and say,
"Hey, what is up, kinswoman?
"What is up, kinswoman?"
That is not what I am talking about.

I am talking about in certain setting that you're claimed to speak definitely and professionally. That is what we wan na do. So, Sharjeel Anees speaking.

Whack, proper greeting, rehearse it multiple times.

Tip Number Three

How you say it's more important than what you say.

Tonality, it's really, really vital when you are talking on the phone. Your native language, if English is your identical language or third language, your native language might have different tonality.

So you need to learn how to communicate, have the proper meter. So let me give you a simple, simple sample, just what we did right there.

Let's say, what can I do for you? Just one line.

I am gonna do it three different ways.
Comment below and you tell me what communication am I communicating?

What I'm I saying?
What chords am I using?
So first one.
What can I do for you? ( Low tone)
What can I do for you? ( High tone)
What can I do for you? ( Medium tone)

Do you hear the difference? It's the same line, but how you say it's really, really important. So when you are talking on the phone, sometimes you wan na pay really close attention.

Sometimes you want to not say certain words and certain expressions using your monotone. The language that you always use.

However, you speak Hindi, you speak Spanish, If you speak Arabic. You can see people who speaks with an emphasis, which I do, I still speak with an emphasis, but that is okay.

The important thing is people understand what you are talking about.

Tip Number Four

Slow down. Speed kills.

I know when you get nervous, what do we do?

You speak fleetly instead of braking it down. You fair subconsciously do not want people to hear what you are saying because you are embarrassed that, oh, possibly I'll sound stupid.

Possibly they do not understand.
Sometimes instead of braking down and being more clear, you do the antipode.

Now you are speeding up so to make sure they do not hear you. Do not do that. When you exercise and you wan na speak freely, brake down.

You notice when good speakers tapes, if you watch their tapes, they brake down, especially on the phone.

They attend, they ask questions, and they brake down. And that is how you speak with confidence and conviction and clarity. Do not just speed up and say you get nervous, no, brake down.

Take a deep breath, it's okay.

And if the other side, they do not understand, you can repeat yourself and just say it again and there is certain words, and I still, there is certain words that I speak that may not be 100 accurate.

I'll brake down and repeat it again and do it again and that is impeccably fine.

Tip Number Five

If there are words that you're limping with, that you are limping with, possibly certain words that are a little bit longer in English language.

In English language. Slow it down, rehearse it multiple times.

So you can take a word that you are limping with and just say it again and again and again.

And you can indeed go to Google Translate, you can classify in Google Translate and just click the voice and you can hear.

This is how I would express the word and you say it again and again and again.

I used to do that, rehearse it hundreds of times because you wan na get relieve of the fear.

Instead of not using the word, that, oh, that is the word that I am saying it wrong.

No, use the word, practice, and either use it.

And after awhile, you get the confidence and report, now you have a new vocabulary that you could use in the day to day discussion.

In term of speaking English, on average, we use about three to words, all of us, again and again and again.

So by adding further words to your day to day use, kind of your treasure box, it expands your setting.

I believe when you are learning English, it's not just learning the language, but you are learning the culture.

I have been really fortunate.

I immigrated to New Delhi when I was 3 years old, and my first language was actually Urdu and Hindi.

I also speak Urdu cause my Mother and Father is from Urdu Culture.

So I am a admixture between Hindi and Urdu.

My spare language is Urdu and Hindi. Lastly, my third language is English.

And I am glad I learned the English language because now by doing business internationally, but just doing business in Aligarh, by understanding a new language.

I also pick up a lot of new creeds, learning about the culture, how business is done in a Western world.

So either I've the noncasual part of both worlds. I understand the culture from the East and also combine the control, the thinking styles in the West, and this is how I conduct business.

And that is how I run my life because I learned a language, and now I am competent to expand my wisdom and expand my knowledge base.

Does that make sense?

So those are the five tips.

Now if you want to learn additional about communication.

I indoctrinate what I consider a world class, probably the noncasual class in the world, a virtual program on communication:
